A personal project, Chryslin gets its name from a combination of Chrysanthemum, a flower, and a children's book (Kevin Henkes, 1991) about self-love and compassion for others, and a lyric from the song Crystal by Stevie Nicks. This project is a work-in-progress, but it is my love letter project dedicated to my lifelong love of bookstores and libraries, and the safe space both have provided for me. 

 

The initial concept for this business is that they publish young adult fiction, comics, and zines submitted to their publishing division, along with selling used books. Events held at the storefront include local readings, zine workshops, and charity book fairs. partially inspired by the indie setting of Greenwich Village and their culture/history.
