PEM Edmonia Lewis Exhibit – Digital Assets

Collage Image.png

I conducted on-the-ground research on 19th-century sculptor Edmonia Lewis, using the Peabody Essex Museum, and created three email designs and three social media posts. As a designer primarily focused on print, this project pushed me to adapt to digital formats. The museum's existing elegant, old-world aesthetic needed a modern refresh, so I drew inspiration from more maximalist and repetitive layouts to better draw the viewer's attention.

To differentiate my work, I highlighted lesser-known exhibit elements: a collection of beautiful beaded bags reflecting Lewis's Native American heritage, and an overlooked iPad displaying a scalable 3D model of a sculpture. I captured dynamic close-ups from inside the polygon framework, using them for texture and visual interest.

Created in collaboration with the Peabody Essex Museum and Salem State University.
