Red Skies Magazine

I was appointed the arts editor of Red Skies during a period of complete operational overhaul. The main problems were one, a lack of internal organization and two, nobody on the liberal arts campus knew Red Skies existed (aside from English majors). I was an integral part of taking beginning steps to solve both. I designed their new internal visual arts submission systems using drives and spreadsheets, along with establishing new extensive artwork submission guidelines and a contact list of artists for frequent collaboration, essentially placing myself in a minor art-direction role.

The magazine is volunteer-based, and for the first four months, it was consistently developed by our editorial supervisor, the new editor-in-chief, and me.

I didn't design their new brand identity, but I did design these flyers. Over my one-year term at the magazine, I hand-distributed these flyers across campus.

By the beginning of 2026, These efforts resulted in a 45% increase in weekly writer submissions, a 70% increase in publication subscribers, and a consistent increase in art submissions for the first time in Red Skies 11 year history.
